WordPress Meetups are informal local meetings where WordPress users of all experience levels gather to share information, ask questions and talk about all things WordPress.

Joshua McNary and Christoph Trappe launched the Creative Corridor meetup group in January 2014 after Christoph attended and spoke at a number of WordCamps throughout the United States. We realized that the Creative Corridor – including Cedar Rapids, Iowa City and surrounding communities – could use a WordPress meetup group.

We picked a date, location and setup a Meetup.com group and promoted its existence through several channels, including emails, social, face to face and the Creative Corridor Project’s newsletter. Meetup.com also shared the launch with local members.

About a dozen community members showed up to the first meetup in January 2014 and we are looking forward to many more monthly meetings. You can sign up here.
