Virtual reality video is still fairly new in 2017 and  2018. Virtual reality video-which is consumed through a virtual reality headset-it’s an all immersive type of video for the consumer.

Here are some tips on how to stand out with virtual reality video especially now as they’re still few people producing it:

  • Make sure your video uploads clearly call out that the video is virtual reality.
  • Shoot something unique. Tell a story that others haven’t told yet.
  • Make sure to share across all relevant channels and explain to people how to watch it. I, for example, had no idea how to even get a headset or how to use it before it was explained to me.

If you have the skills to shoot virtual reality video I would highly recommend to do that right now. There are still relatively few content creators who are doing it and it can be a differentiator. Of course, keep in mind that a lot of audience members may not even know how to consume it but depending on the topic and the story there is potential to get a good B bang out of your buck.
