gym selfieI was having a great workout at the gym next to another guy. I thought that he looked familiar but he didn’t give me the impression that he was thinking the same about me.

I thought he looked like a teammate of mine when I was on the Iowa football team in the 1990s.

But it was apparently not him. And you know how shy I am. 🙂 So I carried on with my lift.

At some point, I thought I’d look up on Facebook if he even lives in the same area. He does.

We chit chatted on Messenger for a moment to confirm that we are both at the same gym.

As you may imagine, Iowa football teammates have a special bond – even if they don’t recognize each other at first. It’s been 15 years, but once a Hawkeye, always a Hawkeye.

We ended up having a great offline conversation. I didn’t mind at all that it cut into my lift.

Offline tools can help us re-establish offline and longtime connections. How about that? Use all channels and especially the ones we are most comfortable with in a given situation.
