The term Joy of Use is used to describe a lofty goal for web strategists.

We want people using our apps or websites to feel a certain joy while using them. This can be accomplished through useful design and easy to use functions. Additionally, apps or websites that solve people’s problems can be a joy to use.

Some sites that rank high in joy of use have features that get users to come back. Think Facebook, for example. People check back in to see what new things people have posted and if anyone has liked their updates or commented on them.

Joy of Use is an attainable goal when we are clear about our audience and the purpose of the site.
