C-level leaders in an organization are the roles that start with a “c” and include:

  • Chief Executive Officer
  • Chief Operating Officer
  • Chief Financial Officer
  • Chief Marketing Officer
  • Chief Digital Officer
  • And so on….

For content marketing, authentic storytelling and digital strategies to work and take-off in an organization, somebody at this level of the organization has to lead or at least be a vocal advocate for the project.

Oftentimes, the Chief Marketing or Digital officers are the natural C-level supporters, but the Chief Financial Officer can also be swayed when financial pay-offs are proven. The Chief Executive Officer is also a great person to get on board early on.

Authentic storytelling initiatives with proper C-level support are much more likely to become long-term assets than ones without it.

Projects can still start from the ground up, but at some point C-level support is necessary.
